Private Notes

Send a self-destructing, end-to-end encrypted note. The link works once, then the note is deleted.

Private Notes lets you send a secret message that self-destructs. Write a note, get a one-time link, and share it — the note is deleted from our server the moment it is opened.

Notes are encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. The decryption key is part of the link after the "#", which browsers never send to a server, so FormatCraft cannot read your notes.

Use it to share passwords, API keys, recovery codes or any sensitive text without leaving a copy in chat logs or email archives.

Share a password once

Create the note, send the link, and the password disappears after your colleague reads it.

Time-limited note

Show options → Note self-destructs: 24 hours after creation

The note can be read several times until it expires.

Note not found

The note was already read, destroyed by the sender, or it expired.

Ask the sender to create a new note.

Link is incomplete

The part after # was cut off when the link was copied.

Copy the complete link, including everything after the # sign.

Can FormatCraft read my notes?

No. The note is encrypted in your browser and the key only exists in the link fragment (after #), which is never sent to the server. We store only encrypted data.

What happens after the note is read?

With the default setting the note is deleted from the server as soon as it is opened. Opening the link again shows "note not found".

What if nobody opens the link?

Unread notes are deleted automatically after 30 days, or earlier if you chose a shorter expiry.

Can I add a password?

Yes. Under "Show options" set a password; the recipient needs both the link and the password. Send the password through a different channel than the link.

Why would a note be gone before the recipient opened it?

Some corporate email scanners open links automatically. When sending by email, enable "Ask for confirmation before showing the note" so a scanner cannot destroy it.

Can I delete a note I sent?

Yes. Use "Destroy note now" right after creating it, or the "My notes" list on this page (saved only in your browser).
